Worldwide Salon Marketing launches exclusive distribution in USA

Paraphrasing the line made famous by the late Victor Kiam of Remington, one of our own Inner Circle members have purchased exclusive Worldwide Salon Marketing distribution rights for two US states after seeing their own beauty business increase by 1000% in less than a year despite the recession.

Dr Tim & Kanna Reilly joined the Inner Circle marketing & mentoring program in late 2007. Their small medspa in Scottsdale, Arizona was on the verge of closing its doors, but using WSM’s direct response marketing templates, sales strategies and coaching, they rapidly increased their sales from a lowly $7,000 a month to an amazing $70,000 a month.

Now they want to help other US salon & spa owners do the same. With their salon running profitably on automatic pilot and steadily increasing sales month by month, they’ll open for business in January 2009 as Worldwide Salon Marketing’s inaugural US operation, enrolling salon & spa owners all over Arizona and Nevada into the same program that not only saved their business, but made them prosper.

“We’re excited about the future,” says Dr Reilly, a specialist chiropractor by training. “Our experience with Worldwide Salon Marketing has been nothing short of excellent, and we can’t wait to be able to deliver the same results for salon and spa owners all over the US.”

WSM co-founder and CEO Greg Milner says the US market for the company’s marketing tools, coaching programs and other business-building products is huge.

“In the tiny Australian market of about 27,000 beauty and hair salons, our sales will be approaching $5 million in 2009-10,” he says. “But there are more than 350,000 beauty businesses in the US that’s worth over $50 million a year, just by doing what we’re doing here.”

Thanks partly to its extensive internet presence; WSM gets more than 100 salons & spas a month applying for Membership to its intensive $8,000 Inner Circle program, along with the Essential Salon Owner’s Marketing Toolkit. More than half of those applications come from North America.

“From our little office in Perth, Western Australia, we were finding it increasingly-difficult to keep up with the demand from outside Australia. So it made sense to go the franchising route,” says Mr Milner.

The company intends to either appoint more franchisees across the USA, or find a Master Licensee to on-sell franchises.
The New Zealand market, worth over $1 million a year, is also creating interest. Already, one of WSMâ’s successful Kiwi salons is exploring taking on a franchise for the whole of NZ. And a major operator in the UK has begun initial discussions for a British franchise.
