On Monday, over 200 salon & spa owners will find out stuff that their competitors haven’t a clue about…

We’re still getting last-minute bookings for Monday’s Road to Riches salon marketing & sales seminar in Melbourne. So far over 200 salon & spa owners have booked tickets for the event, at the Park Hyatt Hotel, the first of several such events in Australia, New Zealand and the USA (dates TBA) this year. But the thing that always makes me wonder, is how come out of more than 5,000 salons and spas in Victoria alone, only 200 or so consider their business prosperity - especially in tough times like these – is worth investing a little time in?

Can’t be the money. Heck, at a lousy $157 for almost a whole day of the kind of sales, marketing & money-making info you just don’t get anywhere else, we’re hardly talking sheep stations here. (And even then, half of all ticket prices are going to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.)

Can’t be that it’s too far to travel. Some are driving for several hours to get there. We have people coming all the way from the USA, New Zealand. If it’s good enough for them, it’s probably worth getting out of bed for.

I can only guess that 99% of people in the beauty industry are in it as a hobby, for the zen of it. Most have bought themselves a job, and each day do it the same way they did it yesterday, last week, last year and the year before that. That barely 1% are in it not just because they’re good at it, but because they realise that even – especially – in recession, consumer spending on ‘feel good’ services like the movies, health, and beauty treatments actually goes up!

And it’s these people we’re really interested in helping not only grow their own businesses, but take market share from their less-worthy competitors.

So for these 200-or-so business-minded salon & spa owners on Monday, we’re doing to reveal some of the profit-generating, customer-stealing, market-dominating strategies, tools and ‘sneaky tricks’ that we ONLY ever reveal at the Road to Riches event.
