“We opened our office in January 2004 as a chiropractic office primarily, but we also purchased an Endermologie machine to create an income stream that was not insurance dependent. “Just to give you an update on this week’s marketing.
We ran the ad that we discussed on Friday in the H&P Times and printed 500 flyers for the Hollywood Package for New Clients. Sent out an SMS and email to existing clients for the Envy Package.
Things started out a but rough on Tuesday morning, mainly my fault. As I arrived 10 mins later than everyone else in the salon and the answer machine was full of people making enquires about the package we were selling!! With being busy on Friday and Saturday I didn’t have time to fully brief all the details of the packages to the staff, they just knew we where
running an ad. Which they weren’t to happy about, as I had shown them a mockup of what we were promoting on Thursday night (I think I mentioned this on Friday morning during our chat).
So after explaining the packages and what was involved, they still weren’t impressed!! By 3pm on the Tuesday we had sold 11 Hollywood packages (new clients) and 8 Envy packages (existing) clients. I then went and delivered the flyers I had printed. When I returned at closing we had sold 15 Hollywood Packages and 11 Envy packages. Lets just say that the staff were a bit happier.
The Hollywood packages were all sold out by 11am on Wednesday, And we only have 4 Envy packs left. We are still getting people phoning about the Hollywood packages, I decided not to sell any more at this stage, as the staff are still in shock as to what has happened. But we are getting peoples details and adding them to the data based so we can send them our SMS offers in the future. One of the seniors came up to me last night and apologised for being closed
minded, and said after 14 years in the industry she hasn’t seen that kind of response to an advert before! So a BIG THANKYOU CHRIS and to the GUYS at Salon Marketing!!!!

“Turning Heads is in Wagga Wagga, a country town of about 60,000 people in NSW. We have four staff plus myself, and my wife works as the salon receptionist. Our salon has been open for the last 13 years. Since we’ve met the team at Worldwide Salon Marketing things have really changed.
Here’s how our sales have gone from mediocre to fantastic…here’s some figures
The latest promotion we’ve done – a package deal of $401 of hairdressing for $99. The most successful thing that we’ve done. We ran it in to local free newspaper and the result was overwhelming. The first ad was run last month, to all the houses in the local area – 31 responses. 2 weeks later I ran the same ad with a few tweaks, a further 31 responses.
That’s a total of 62 people who responded to our marketing for this promotion. Now two of those were regular clients who took up the offer, so that’s 60 brand new clients. It was the most successful promotion we’ve ever done. From that we’ve taken a bit over $8,000.
I got the ad from one of your templates, and tinkered with it a little bit to add a few of my own touches. We took a template from the kit. The ads were 3 columns across, 10 cm high. First ad was page 3, right hand side. The second ad was on the first page, bottom left. The ads were $250 – $300 each, an amazing return on investment. We are VERY happy with the result.
Now we will send them the New Client Letters from the Inner Circle marketing Toolkit, to try to keep them as long term clients.
My coach David worked out with me the ‘cost per lead’, or the cost to get each new client. It’s about $8, which is really good.
Even if we just kept a quarter of these clients – that’s 15 clients – I’m going to work out the yearly value of these clients. My clients spend on average $150 per visit, and they are in 10 times per year, that’s $1,500 value every year per client. 15 clients at $1,500 yearly value is $22,500 extra business for my salon at an initial cost of only $500!
I’m going to continue to run these ads for the rest of the month, and see how it goes. My coach has advised me that as long as the ads are working, why would I stop marketing? I may try some mailbox flyers as well.
Marketing with ‘packages’ is definitely the way to go, and this is the best promotion we have ever done. Only 4 or 5 actually only spent $99, we easily up-sold the rest to more colour, more services, and of course products.
We will now send out the series of ‘New Client’ letters to get these clients to re-book. As I’m an Inner Circle member I can take this straight from your Sales & Marketing Superkit.
Other things we are doing at the moment include sending out your ‘Raise the Dead’ letters to get old clients back in – straight from the kit – and of course our regular salon newsletter. We are making some massive improvements, and there are plenty more coming. Clients are happy, they love the service and many have noticed that the salon seems busier. I’m feeling very good about it, we are no longer going along at such a slow pace, we have direction, and we are making much more money.”
