Salon Owners Rush to Join Inner Circle Program before Price Rise

Salon owners from all over Australia rushed our product tables at the back of the room at this week’s Sydney Road to Riches salon marketing seminar to join the Inner Circle marketing & mentoring program on the last day before the first major price rise in more than two years.

We enrolled 25 new salons into the program on the day, with the first ten taking home their Toolkits there and then. (That’s all we’d taken with us to Sydney!)

Apart from the impending price rise, no doubt the biggest spur to action for these new Members was hearing first-hand of the massive successes of other salon owners, some of whom had only been in the program for a matter of months.

Recession? Jo Trigg of Hey Beautiful in Helensburgh isn’t aware of one. Jo revealed to the room of more than 170 people that since joining the Inner Circle in 2007, business had been so good she’d taken herself ‘off the tools’ and was about to enjoy her first skiing holiday in New Zealand.

Gloom and doom isn’t bothering Rechelle Watt either. Rechelle told how her Lamonde Hair Face & Body’s sales had increased a massive $110,000 in the past year.

And IC Member Lisa Conway of Marinelli’s Hair Studio flew up from Melbourne, excited by figures she’d just extracted from her salon computer which showed that her 9 month sales to the end of May this year were over $360,000, compared with $250,000 in the corresponding previous 9 months. That’s smokin’!

There were plenty more similarly-inspiring stories from other Inner Circle members who – unlike the majority of the population – are NOT kow-towing to the gloom talk, are not pulling the sheets up over their eyes and hoping it’ll all go away, but are taking action…and making their actions more effective by using the tools, templates and strategies given to them as IC members.

As the new members lined up to get their Toolkits after the seminar, several remarked to me how strange it was that everybody there didn’t enrol in the program. Indeed, a little over 33% of the attending salons actually enrolled.

This is a typical figure for our seminars, one that’s held more-or-less true for every seminar we’ve ever run. But it’s actually a very high figure, if you take into account the way of the world.

The facts don’t lie - for decades, study after study has revealed pretty much the same figures: Only about 1% of people get rich via their businesses. 20% of people earn 80% of all the income. These success stats never change.


You can’t do anything about the stats. You can only decide which group you want to be in, and take the action required to be in that group. (If you want to be in the Great Majority, the 80% of salon owners who never make much of their businesses, little action is required beyond continuing to do things the way you’ve always done ‘em.)

And every time I stand at the door and farewell our seminar attendees, I can tell to within a very small margin for error which group each one has chosen to be in.

At the end of the day, it IS simply a choice.
